The Brow Medical Centre in Burgess Hill is thrilled to been rated as "Outstanding" for Care by the Care Quality Commission. The overall rating for all services offered by the practice is “Good”.
The report looks at all aspects of quality. In particular, it examines whether services are safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs, and well-led?
With regard to the aspect of Caring, the report stated that “Staff were motivated and inspired to offer kind and compassionate care and respected the totality of their needs” and that “Patients said they were treated with compassion, dignity and respect and they were involved in their care and decisions about their treatment. The practice placed a strong emphasis on addressing the wider social and community aspects of their patients’ health and worked closely with other organisations and with the local community to do this.”

The report also praised the practice values, which include lifelong learning, patient centred holistic care, kindness and compassion, and providing high quality clinical care with a “more than medicine” approach.
The practice encourages and values feedback from patients, the public and staff. It proactively seeks feedback from patients and engages patients in the delivery of the service.
The practice also facilitates “dementia mini clinics”, working in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society. These clinics are not just for clinical issues but also to enable patients and carers access to information on support groups, benefits and practical advice.
The Brow Medical Centre is particularly grateful for the input and support from their patient participation group, which has played a great part in the achievement of this outstanding rating.
